Dr. Linda Ferber, exhibition curator at the New York Historical Society, recently headlined a cocktail reception at The Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach, FL. The event was hosted by New York Historical Society Chairman

Betsy and
Wally Tuner.
Drawn from the treasures of the American art collection, Hudson River Masterpieces from the New York Historical Society will showcase 45 important 19th century landscape paintings by Hudson River School. The exhibition includes celebrated works by
Thomas Cole and
Asher B. Durand, founders of the American landscape school. Many of these paintings are available for loan on this occasion only because the New York Historical Society is currently undergoing renovations and the galleries are temporarily closed. Other featured artists include:
John Frederick Kensett,
Jasper Francis Cropsey,
Francis Augustus Silva,
Sanford Robinson Gifford,
Robert Havell,
John William Casilear,
Jervis McEntee,
William Trost Richards, and
William Louis Sonntag.
Ninety guests were invited to join members of the Society of the Four Arts in the Esther O'Keeffe building for a tea and the chance to preview the Hudson River School Masterpieces Exhibit. Immediately following the tea guests of the New York Historical Society were directed to the Dixon Board Room in the Rovensky building where they enjoyed cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres provided by C'est Si Bon catering.
Louise Mirrer, president and CEO of the New York Historical Society welcomed guests and introduced
Roger Hertog, chairman of the New York Historical Society, who then introduced
Linda Ferber, guest speaker and curator of the Hudson River School Masterpieces. Guests mingled after the speaking program.
