Four-time Academy® Award-nominee, two-time Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Award winner Annette Bening will discuss her prestigious career during Hamptons International Film Festival’s signature “A Conversation With…” program on Sunday, October 8. Taking place at East Hampton Middle School, HIFF Board Member and actor Bob Balaban will moderate the intimate talk that begins at 7:30 p.m.
Bening will also support her film, Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool, which will serve as a HIFF Spotlight. The Paul McGuigan film, which also stars Jamie Bell, will screen on Sunday, October 8 and Monday, October 9 at Guild Hall in East Hampton. Sony Pictures Classics will release the film on December 15.

The distinguished actress’ 25 year career includes noteworthy roles in Rob Reiner’s The American President, opposite Michael Douglas; Sam Mendes’ American Beauty, starring Kevin Spacey; István Szabó’s Being Julia; Lisa Cholodenko’s The Kids Are All Right, opposite Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo; Mike Mills’ 20th Century Women – a 2016 HIFF feature – opposite Greta Gerwig and Elle Fanning; and Warren Beatty’s Rules Don’t Apply.
She can also be seen Michael Mayer’s upcoming adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s play The Seagull opposite Saoirse Ronan, as well as Dan Fogelman’s drama Life, Itself with Olivia Wilde, Oscar Isaac, Samuel L. Jackson and Antonio Banderas, and Christoph Waltz’s directorial debut Georgetown, opposite Waltz and Vanessa Redgrave.
Patrick Stewart, who is being honored with the Variety Creative Impact in Acting Award, and LBJ director Rob Reiner will also take part in “A Conversation With…”.
