The Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) has revealed that the Festival's 25th anniversary lineup will include the World Premiere of Alison Chernick's Itzhak.

"We are thrilled to announce Allison Chernick's Itzhak as our opening night feature, and to have the talented Itzhak Perlman himself join us for our anniversary year," said Hamptons International Film Festival Artistic Director David Nugent. "This diverse array of films announced today, many with local ties, are sure to be some of the most talked about films at this year's Festival."

Itzhak, which will launch the Festival on Thursday, October 5 at Guild Hall in East Hampton, explores the life of Israeli violin virtuoso and conductor Itzhak Perlman. Perlman, who resides on the East End, will attend the film's screening.

Jennifer Garner, Deon Cole, Michael Finley, Spencer Haywood, Oscar Robertson and P.J. Tucker will also support films at this year's HIFF.

The 2017 HIFF will feature the World Premieres of seven additional films, including The Tribes of Palos Verdes, which stars Garner, Justin Kirk, Elisabeth Rohm, Goran Višnjić, and Joley Fisher. The coming-of-age drama directed by Brendan Malloy and Emmett Malloy revolves around a family who relocates to affluent LA suburb Palos Verdes. Directed by over 40 filmmakers, 11/8/16, which was curated and produced by Jeff Deutchman, takes a look at footage from across the country documenting Election Day. Coodie Simmons and Chike Ozah's The First To Do It explores the life of Earl Lloyd, the first African American to play in the NBA. The film, which was executive produced by NBA players Carmelo Anthony, Kawhi Leonard, Tony Parker, Michael Finley and P.J. Tucker, includes interviews with Anthony and Leonard. Tiffany Bartok's Larger Than Life: The Kevyn Aucoin Story explores the professional and personal life of iconic makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin, featuring interviews with Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss and more. Onur Tukel's The Misogynists follows two Trump supporters as they revel in election night results. The film stars Dylan Baker.

In addition to Itzhak, other HIFF World Premieres with local ties include Ben and Orson Cummings' Killer Bees, produced by Shaquille O'Neal and executive produced by Larry Gagosian. The documentary follows the East End's own Bridgehampton High School basketball team and the community as the team attempts to defend their state championship title. Josh Klausner's Wanderland, which was also shot in the Hamptons, stars Tate Ellington, Dree Hemingway, Ronald Guttman, Harris Yulin and Tara Summers. The film follows a character who spontaneously decides to accept an offer to house-sit an idyllic Long Island "Enchanted Cottage" from an online acquaintance. This leads to a surreal, all-night musical journey of misadventures.

The 25th annual Hamptons International Film Festival will be held Thursday, October 5 through Monday, October 9. Founders Passes will be available starting Tuesday, September 5.
