Another captivating Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) has come and gone, which means it's time to announce the 2016 HIFF audience award winners.

"We would like to thank all of the filmmakers whose fantastic films screened at the festival this year," said HIFF Artistic Director David Nugent. "It is incredibly difficult to award only a handful of films after a five-day festival of engaging content."

Damien Chazelle's La La Land, which stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, took home the HIFF Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature.

Raoul Peck's I Am Not Your Negro garnered the most votes for the HIFF Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature category.

The HIFF Audience Award for Best Short Film was awarded to The White Helmets, directed by Orlando von Einsiedel.

"Congratulations to the Audience Award winners that stood out to our filmgoers amongst the best this year had to offer," added Nugent.

The 24th annual festival was held from Thursday, October 6th through Monday, October 10th, during which more than 125 films from around the world were screened.

Additional honorees include Glory, directed by Kristina Grozeva & Petar Valchanov; Divines, directed by Houda Benyamina; Wakefield, directed by Robin Swicord; Black Swell, directed by Jake Honig; Disturbing the Peace, directed by Stephen Apkon and Andrew Young; Unlocking the Cage, directed by Chris Hegedus and D.A. Pennebaker; and Loving directed by Jeff Nichols.

"We are proud of the diverse slate of programming from this year's festival, and are appreciative of all the support of our community, audience members, filmmakers, actors and staff who were part of such an incredible and successful weekend," said Anne Chaisson, HIFF Executive Director. "We look forward to celebrating our 25th anniversary next year."
