The Alec Baldwin Foundation Continues To Support The Arts To HIFF

East Hampton - Emmy Award® and Golden Globe Award® winning television, film and stage actor, Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) board member and HIFF SummerDocs Host, Alec Baldwin, has made a $250,000 contribution to the Hamptons International Film Festival, it was announced by HIFF Chairman Stuart Suna and Executive Director Karen Arikian.

Baldwin has been a passionate and avid supporter of the arts and arts education through the years. He has worked closely with many organizations dedicated to the advancement of the arts including the New York Philharmonic, The Roundabout Theatre Company, Guild Hall of East Hampton and The Public Theatre to name a few.

"Alec has been a long-time advocate for the arts and supporter of the Hamptons International Film Festival. His commitment to furthering public funding of the arts and arts education has been an inspiration to me, and many others," says HIFF Chairman Suna. "We are extremely appreciative of this major contribution to the Hamptons International Film Festival, which clearly demonstrates Alec's unwavering enthusiasm, commitment and support of non-profits struggling to survive in the economic climate of the times," says Suna.

"Alec's hands-on and year-round involvement in the Festival as well as the SummerDocs series is a testament to his devotion and dedication in providing communities with every opportunity to enjoy the arts," adds HIFF Executive Director Arikian. "We are incredibly grateful to have someone so passionate about the arts in a leadership role on our board," continues Arikian.

Baldwin continues to host the annual SummerDocs series, in association with Guild Hall, which is now in its third year and has given the Long Island community many great, innovative films and lively conversations. The final two SummerDocs screenings for this summer's series will be Pierre Thoretton's 'L'Amour Fou' presented on Friday, August 19 and Alma Har'el's 'Bombay Beach' presented on Thursday, September 1.

About The Hamptons International Fim Festival
The Hamptons International Film Festival was founded to celebrate the Independent film - long, short, fiction and documentary - and to introduce a unique, varied spectrum of international films and filmmakers to the public. The Festival is committed to exhibiting films that express fresh voices and differing global perspectives, with the hope that these programs will enlighten audiences, provide invaluable exposure for filmmakers and present inspired entertainment for all. The Festival will run October 13 through October 17, 2011.
