East Hampton - The Hamptons International Film Festival continues its commitment to year-round programming with a very special screening of the 1966 thriller "Seconds." "Last February's screening of "Mean Streets," which
Alec Baldwin hosted was such a success, that we're thrilled to once again have him share a great film with our audiences" stated Director of Programming,
David Nugent.
Master of the paranoid thriller and celebrated American filmmaker
John Frankenheimer brought an unusual movie to the French Riviera for the Cannes Film Festival in 1966. While less well known than some of his other films such as "The Manchurian Candidate" and "The Birdman of Alcatraz," "Seconds" is a surreal film that explores age and identity in truly groundbreaking fashion for a Hollywood film.
When middle-aged banker John Randolph arrives home to his hum drum life in the suburbs one afternoon, he receives a mysterious phone call with an offer that will change his life and all of those in it. With an all star cast and crew featuring the cinematography of
James Wong Howe ("Body and Soul," "Sweet Smell of Success"), the music of
Jerry Goldsmith ("Chinatown") and
Rock Hudson in perhaps the best performance of his career, "Seconds" is a haunting film that is sure to stay with viewers long after its startling ending.
HIFF greatly appreciates the continued support from their corporate sponsors which include Altour International, American Airlines, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, and Silvercup Studios.
Tickets for the screening on February 19 are available purchase at www.guildhall.org or at the
Guild Hall Box Office. Tickets are $17/$15 for Guild Hall members.
The 19th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival will take place October 13 through October 17.
