) proudly announces this year's festival dates will be Thursday, October 13 through Monday, October 17, 2011. The festival, which is usually held over Columbus Day Weekend, is launching one week later in 2011 in order to honor Yom Kippur, which falls during Columbus Day Weekend this year. HIFF plans to return to its regular Columbus Day Weekend dates in 2012 (October 4 through October 8, 2012) to celebrate its 20th Anniversary.
HIFF comes off a hugely successful and well attended 2010 festival with an impressive line-up of films including "Barney's Version," "Black Swan
," "Blue Valentine," "The King's Speech," "127 Hours," "Toy Story
3," "Miral," "Waiting for Superman" and "Made in Dagenham."
Additionally, the festival continued many of its special programs such as its "Conversation with...," the annual Kodak Cinematography Master Class, Breakthrough Performers, Animation Master Class, as well as having notable talent in attendance including James Franco
