Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards

New York City - The 11th Annual Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards, the only major theatrical prize awarded solely by votes cast online by audience members, is announcing its move from online to in-person this spring with its first-ever live ceremony at Jazz at Lincoln Center - The Allen Room on Sunday evening, May 15, 2011, hosted by Vanessa Williams. The ceremony, by invitation only, will feature the presentation of awards in traditional categories as well as several unique to the Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards including Favorite Diva Performance, Favorite Breakthrough Performance, and Favorite Onstage Pair. Plus, for the first time, there will be an award for national tours, to encourage the participation of Broadway fans not only in New York but across the country. All awards are decided solely by the voting of theater fans on Broadway.com.

"We're thrilled to be able to expand upon the Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards with our very first live ceremony in the stunning Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center," said John Gore, CEO/Owner of Key Brand Entertainment Inc. "Broadway has an enormous base of loyal and supportive fans around the world and it's paramount that their voices are heard. We're proud to be committed to that goal and to take the next step of giving the Audience Choice Awards the live ceremony it deserves."

Beginning Friday, April 29, fans will be able to choose nominees from lists of every possibility in each category on Broadway.com. On Thursday, May 5, the nominees will be announced on the site and voting will begin. The winners will be announced live at the ceremony on Sunday, May 15.
