Artist Collective: A Manxart Production
A group art exhibition will be held at 35 Hampton Road in Southampton beginning on December 4 and run through January 3. There will be an opening reception on Saturday, December 5, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The exhibition will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from 12 noon to 5 p.m. on December 21, 22, 23, 28, 29, 30 and January 1. The Art Gallery At Quogue Library
The Art Gallery At Quogue Library will present a group show entitled "Winter Light" featuring works Eileen Dawn Skretch,
Tom Steele,
Joanne Rosko, Gail Kern, Aubrey Grainger, and Susan D'Alessio. There will be an opening reception on Saturday, December 5, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The show will run through the month of December.

Watermill Center
GirlMachine, a 2009 Watermill Fall Residency, was voted one of the best performances at PERFORMA 09 by
New York Magazine, and 2009 Summer Artist in Resident
Chen Yung-Hsien's installation "Beyond the Mirage" is featured in this year's SCOPE art fair in Miami. PERFORMA is the biennial of performance and art founded by
RosaLee Goldberg, which showcases over 100 international artists across more than 60 arts institutions and a network of public and private venues across New York City. This performance piece was workshopped first at Watermill in the fall of 2009, where it previewed to an enthusiastic audience.
Carlos Soto,
Christian Wassmann and
Charles Chemin are all alumni of the Watermill Summer Program and forged their collaboration there.
Luisa Gui was also instrumental as producer in organizing and fundraising for their PERFORMA premiere. GirlMachine is a free theatrical investigation of Futurism's ambiguous vitality and its complex relationship to the modern body, exploring notions of masculine identity and mechanized erotics. A Futurist club of men, women and objects created by a collective of artists across art, theater, architecture and music. Southampton Cultural Center
The Southampton Cultural Center (www.southamptonculturalcenter.org) is proud to announce the 2010 winners of the Student Artist Invitational, Long Island's premiere juried high school art show. These High School juniors and seniors are among the most focused and talented young artists in Suffolk County. The show is open to all high schools in the 119xx zip codes. Westhampton Beach, Ross, McGann-Mercy, Riverhead, Southampton, Center Moriches, Mattituck and East Hampton are among the schools that participated. Over 100 pieces were entered, from which 56 were selected to hang in the exhibit at the Levitas Center For the Arts on January 9, 2010. A public reception and awards ceremony will be at 4:30 p.m. on January 9. The esteemed judges this year are established gallery owners and professional working artists, including Karen Boltax of Boltax Gallery in Shelter Island, Laura Grenning of Grenning Gallery in Sag Harbor, James Daga Albinson, artist and Marilyn Stevenson, photographer. Holiday Exhibit And Photography Show
Decembers Past And Present and "Frozen in Time: Winter on the East End," is free admission at
Rogers Mansion, on Tuesday through Saturday, through January 2, 2010, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., $4 adults, free for members and children 17 and under. Come celebrate Southampton's many holiday traditions with this annual winter exhibit. The 1843 Rogers Mansion is decorated with traditional holiday decorations and displays by Southampton's many ethnic and cultural communities. Also on display is a photography show by

East End Arts Council
"Earth Paintings" by
Dolores Castrucci, will be on exhibit at Riverhead Town Hall Gallery from December 2, through March 1, 2010. Castrucci is the East End Arts Council's featured exhibit at Riverhead Town Hall. In Castrucci's words, "This exhibition explores the loveliness of winter tide on the East End." Inspired by the evocative beauty of the North Fork, she refers to her latest works as "earth paintings" as they combine textures such as sand, grass and seeds into the compositions, exploring elements of nature as part of her creative experience. She has exhibited widely on Long Island. An Artist's Reception will be held at Town Hall at 6 p.m. on December 15. These exhibits are a collaborative effort on the part of the East End Arts Council and the Township of Riverhead to support local artists and introduce their work to the community.
