New York City - The McNeill Art Group of Southampton is proud to announce the opening of the Tribeca Project Space in New York City. The inaugural exhibition "Plastic, Rubber + Wood," curated by Beth McNeill, will open with a reception on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. A press preview will be held Wednesday, Oct. 14 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

"Plastic, Rubber + Wood," is an exploration of material, through content, subject, and form. The exhibit challenges our conception of the industrial materials of which our manmade world is comprised. Incorporating several processes, including photography, sculpture, painting and installation, the exhibition unveils the materials' inherent beauty and alters our conscious perception of them as elements. Exhibiting artists include American artists Tapp Francke, Mike Solomon, Bob Schwarz, Rob Fischer, Jeff Muhs, Soraida Bedoya, Tyrome Tripoli, Edward Lightner, Samantha Thomas, Korean artist Ji Yong-Ho and Turkish artist Esma Pacal Turam.

The exhibition runs from Oct. 12 through Jan. 25, 2010. The McNeill Art Group project space is located at 143 Reade Street in Tribeca, New York. The space is open by appointment only. For appointments call 631-838-4843.

Beth McNeill, 29 and residing in Southampton, New York, is the founder of McNeill Art Group.

McNeill Art Group began as an art consulting and acquisitions company in 2005. After establishing a presence as a private dealer and exhibiting artists at international art fairs around the world, McNeill began seeking exhibition opportunities in alternative spaces. McNeill worked with Artisan Lofts to create the McNeill Art Group Tribeca Project Space in an effort to continue the global movement towards enhancing the visibility of contemporary art while not conforming to the traditional gallery structure. The Tribeca Project Space is on the ground floor of Artisan Lofts in Tribeca, New York.

This "experimental project space" is a venue for artistic and curatorial expression allowing for continuous adaptation, progression and growth of the creative forces.
