Are you old school about the way you like to listen to your music? If so, you’ll definitely want to be a part of this global celebration.
“Now in its third year, International Cassette Store Day (CSD) happens on Saturday, October 17th, and Innersleeve Records is proud to be an early adopter in the resurgence of this affordable analog format,” shared Carlos Lama.
Founded by UK indie labels Suplex Cassettes, Kissability, and Sexbeat in 2013, the annual event unites cassette lovers from across the world, with Burger Records at the helm of US releases and events. CSD will feature over 100 exclusive titles from bands like Method Man, Motorhead, Sebadoh, The Gaslight Anthem, Foals, Green Day, Beach Slang and more.
“Just as on Record Store Day, we will have exclusive cassette-only releases, as well as re-releases of classic albums on cassette,” noted Lama. “We also sell hundreds of used cassettes in every genre year round.”
To pay homage to the glory of the tape, Innersleeve, who is one of only five participating stores in New York, will have a special lineup for CDS. “We will be playing cassettes only from open to close,” shared Lama. “So dust off that old Walkman or vintage cassette deck and hear the magic that is analog recorded music.”
Innersleeve Records is located at 199 Main Street in Amagansett. For more information, call 631-604-6248 or visit www.innersleeverecords.com.
