East End Hospice's Box Art Auction is celebrating its 15th anniversary, and this year, the benefit will coincide with the completion of a new inpatient facility located in Quogue.

For the inaugural event, East End Hospice asked 100 artists to take a small box and turn it into a work of art that could be auctioned. Now, many of the same artists return to participate in the fundraiser year after year.

"East End Hospice is one of the most loving organizations when the light dims near the end of living," said Hans Van de Bovenkamp, a Box Art auction participating artist. "To help through donating, such as artists do with their work, or through volunteering, is one of the most profound and satisfying acts."

The 2015 auction will include works from 90 artists, such as Connie Fox, April Gornik, Christa Maiwald, Fulvio Massi, Randall Rosenthal, Michelle Stuart, Hans van de Bovenkamp and Frank Wimberley.

On Wednesday, September 2nd and Thursday, September 3rd, the public is invited to a free preview at Hoie Hall (18 James Lane, East Hampton) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. East End Hospice is also hosting a preview "A Meet the Artists" reception on Wednesday, September 2nd from 5 to 7 p.m.

The Box Art Auction will be held at the Ross School Center Lower Campus (739 Butter Lane, Bridgehampton) on Saturday, September 12th, with the silent auction beginning at 4:30 p.m. and the live auction at 5:45 p.m. The evening will also pay tribute to Leif Hope, an artist, organizer of the Artists-Writers Softball Game and founder of the original East Hampton Laundry Restaurant, who will receive The Spirit of Community Award for his contributions to the town of East Hampton.

Tickets are $75.

Hampton Luxury Liner
Hampton Luxury Liner was started in 2000 as a more luxurious way to travel from NYC to the Hamptons and back. The clientele quickly grew and over the years Hampton Luxury liner became the preferred method of transportation to the Hamptons and NYC for many living in NYC and the Hamptons that wanted a comfortable and affordable way to travel back and forth. In 2009, HLL was taken over by Classic Coach and things with the liner didn’t change to much for years and the owner there changed the buses to Prevost as opposed to Mercedes Setra Top Class Coaches that have always been a signature of the liner.
