East End Arts has unveiled a new art exhibit featuring portraits by East Hampton artist Ruth Nasca at the Riverhead Town Hall Gallery.
Nasca explained her inspiration for the exhibition saying, “People are important to me. Creating my signature movie poster paintings, I found the individuality of the face was as important as the human figure. My drawing was my basic talent in high school.” She continued, “I furthered my education with a college art degree, including a scholarship to Yale. I have won many prestigious awards, including top prizes at the East End Arts Gallery’s recent exhibitions. My work is in the collection of Guild Hall, as well as in many private collections. I have had over 40 solo shows”.
The exhibit opened on Wednesday, June 12 and will run through Friday, August 30, 2013.
Riverhead Town Hall is located at 200 Howell Avenue in Riverhead. For more information call 631-727-3200 or visit www.eastendarts.org.
