East Hampton - The Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) proudly announces that for the first time it will be participating in
ArtHamptons - The International Fine Art Fair, on Saturday, July 9, 2011 from 12 noon to 4 p.m. in the Platinum Lounge, BridgeHampton. Additionally, HIFF is proud to announce that the critically acclaimed photographer, filmmaker and Montauk resident,
Bruce Weber, will create this year's festival poster.
The Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) will present limited edition posters that were designed specifically for the film festival in years past. Various area artists, including
Julian Schnabel,
Ross Bleckner,
Cindy Sherman,
Eric Fischl and
Malcolm Morley, created unique posters for the festival which will be on display, with some available for purchase, at this years ArtHamptons. Additionally, HIFF will also include a raffle for two highly coveted Founders Passes for the upcoming 19th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival. HIFF will also have various other festival items on display and for sale.
"It is our mission at HIFF to search for meaningful ways to share our passion for film with the Long Island community. The opportunity through ArtHamptons to showcase our festival posters, each designed specifically for us by a celebrated area artist, is a great fit for us. Not only do we continue to share our love of film but we are also able to acknowledge the artists who have created inspirational posters for our festival," says HIFF Executive Director
Karen Arikian. "We are especially thrilled to have Bruce Weber join this prestigious group of artists," adds Arikian.
Now in its 4th year, ArtHamptons has emerged as the nation's premiere summer fine art fair for post-war and contemporary art. Last year, over 8,000 art enthusiasts attended with more expected to attend this year.
The 19th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival will take place this year from October 13 through October 17.
