Journalist Sally Quinn, the previous owner, recently released Finding Magic, a memoir that covers her time spent at the iconic East Hampton home that has a storied 120-year history. "This is a bittersweet moment for me, but I feel grateful that the new owners will cherish the house as much as Ben, Quinn and I did, and that their time there will be as magical as ours was," she said in a statement. Back in 1979 Quinn purchased the property with her husband, Washington Post executive editor Ben Bradlee, and the couple completely renovated the estate.

The Beales, who were relatives of Jackie Kennedy, were the subjects of a 1975 documentary directed by Albert Maysles, Muffie Meyer, David Maysles, and Ellen Hovde, which later inspired an HBO movie, and Broadway musical.
