The 2014 Hamptons Summer season is now at the midway point and things are really heating up. Party tents are up all over the manicured lawns and celebrities are all over the hamlets that make up the Hamptons. Oscar winner and last years’ East Hampton Library Author’s Night star Gwyneth Paltrow and her daughter Apple Martin, dad is Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, were biking and having a blast “cruising together” around the Amagansett Farmers Market recently.
In Montauk, original Pink Floyd member Roger Waters was out and about checking out the music scene. Also in Montauk eating at the Tex-Mex Restaurant Hideaway on West Lake Drive was former Republican House Majority leader Eric Cantor, a recent loser of his Congressional primary election. Speaking of Primary losers I spotted Anthony Weiner and wife Huma Aberdeem feeding their son at an outside table in front of Almond in Bridgehampton last Saturday night. Anthony recently lost the NYC Democratic Mayoral Primary but there he was in Bridgehampton being a dad and husband. No, he wasn’t texting.
I am excited that I scored great tickets to see Marlo “That Girl” Thomas in a production of “Clever Little Lies,” at East Hampton’s John Drew Theater. Prior to the show Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria Baldwin will be hosting a cocktail party packed with celebrities to honor Marlo in the sculpture garden at Guild Hall. Just last week, Michael Douglas and Diane Keaton along with Rob “Meathead” Reiner were at the John Drew to preview their new film “And So It Goes.”
In Southampton, the Kardashians took a break from filming their show to jet over to Paris for fashion week. But, they are already back and bouncing around Southampton Village. Also, new parents Simon Cowell, 54, and Lauren Silverman, 37, were seen dining out at Red Stix in Water Mill. Lastly, on Saturday, July 26, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm, the 10th Anniversary of Annual Hamptons Happening Waxman Foundation Benefit will be at the home of Maria Fishel and Kenneth Fishel in Bridgehampton with emcee Chris Wragge, the popular WCBS Channel 2 Anchor. The 2014 Honorees are: Celebrity Chef David Burke, Designer Betsey Johnson, and Philanthropist Paul Ridley.
