Sagaponack - The second Annual Ferrari Hamptons Rally took place this past Saturday where the vehicles engineered by automotive giant, Enzo Ferrari, roared into the parking lot at
Georgica Restaurant & Lounge prior to a two hour driving road tour throughout the area, and then back to Georgica for bragging rights, cocktails and friendly one upmanship.
As founder and host of the event,
Nathaniel Christian, a fashion, restaurant and nightlife entrepreneur based in New York City, is a Ferrari enthusiast and collector who credits his passion and fondness for the history and craftsmanship of the vehicles as his inspiration for the event.
The rally was postponed from an earlier scheduled date this summer due to inclement weather, but you can't keep a good engine down, so up to 100 owners gathered on Saturday and proudly displayed their treasured rides.

The sun shone brightly on this beauty. |
Red is the color of love and passion and appeared to be the number one color choice of many of the beautiful vehicles which shimmered, glimmered and were all that on a perfect summer morning.
Drivers and their passengers, including some lucky youngsters just waiting to get their driver's license to ask to borrow the family car, were adorned in Ferrari hats, shirts, jackets, and all appeared to be thrilled and enthralled by the vehicles on display.
After hitting the road, participants were treated to specialty cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a DJ at the wonderful Georgica Restaurant & Lounge, where Executive Chef Robert Hesse always ensure's diners satisfaction.
Sometimes less is more - but certainly not this day - as more vroom, vroom was the sweetest sound heard, so mark your calendar for next year's event, which is scheduled for July 9, 2011, and remember Mom and Dad - those youngsters will be another year older and closer to the steering wheel!
