The President's Committee includes numerous generous donors who have purchased $1,000 or more raffle tickets for the luxury gift drawing that will take place at the Summer Party. With some 50 items up for lucky ticket buyers there are some terrific prizes to be had including $25,000 cash; "Mikado Hamptons" bracelet in 18k yellow gold from
Tamara Comolli Fine Jewelry worth $16,900; an Alligator Bag from Hampton & Co. valued at $7,000; a $2,500 Shopping spree at
Diane von Furstenberg and a five-piece set of DROP luggage from Mandarina Duck.
On hand of course, was Southampton Hospital President and CEO
Bob Chaloner receiving many congratulations for the success of the Hospital's new residency program which includes 18 new doctors working with Hospital doctors and attending physicians, under the leadership of
Dr. Shawn Cannon, Director of Medical Education. It is a program of which Chaloner is justly proud as he moves the Hospital to become a first rate teaching facility and hopefully lure more doctors to the area.
Guests were able to stroll around the beautiful gardens designed originally by the eminent landscape designer
Rose Standish Nichols to complement the home of businessman and avid golfer
Charles Blair MacDonald who in 1913 had commissioned
F. Burrall Hoffman, Jr. to build "Ballyshear" - a magnificent Neo-Georgian home overlooking the National Links Golf Course and the Peconic Bay. Charles and Diane who renamed the house "Cryptomeria" have restored the home and grounds to all of their original glory. The home is featured in
Gary Lawrance and
Anne Surchin's 'Houses of the Hamptons.'

The Hospital's 51st Annual Summer Party, A Centennial Celebration chaired by
Sheila O'Malley Fuchs will take place under the tents on Wickapogue Road in Southampton. The Committees are thrilled that
Christie Brinkley will serve as honorary chair for this year's event. As in past years, the evening will benefit the Hospital's Department of Emergency Medicine. "Southampton Hospital is truly fortunate to have such a loyal community to support the tradition of the annual summer party," commented
Steven M. Bernstein, Southampton Hospital's Foundation President, "This support is critical to the delivery of quality emergency services considering the geographical isolation of the East End communities."
Summer Party attendees will dance to the music of
Alex Donner under a huge tent transformed by the creativity of
Tony Urrutia and
Steven Stolman, and enjoy an elegant catered dinner by
Robbins Wolfe Eventeurs.
Also featured will be the popular silent auction and the raffle of extravagant trips and prizes. For more information about the 51st Annual Summer Party and the Centennial Celebration of Southampton Hospital visit www.southamptonhospital.org.
