Wainscott - The Southampton Youth Services (SYS) summer soiree celebrated an evening on the silver screen at Wainscott Studios on Saturday, June 6. The event honored Norman Peck of The Peter Jay Sharp Foundation. Ann Liguori, sports talk show host, producer, author, and President and Founder of the Ann Liguori Foundation acted as the Mistress of Ceremonies.

According to Mark Antilety, president of the SYS Board, "This is the sixth annual soiree and we came to look at Wainscott Studios and given the size of this location we thought it would be great fun to hold the event here and go with the movie theme. Everyone gets to dress up and feel glamorous."

A member of the board for 15 years, Antilety explained that Peck of The Peter J. Sharp Foundation was receiving particular recognition as honoree in recognition of years of support. "The [Sharp] Foundation has been a major contributor to us from inception. They have always been very gracious to SYS, and we always like to say thanks."

When asked what the funds from the evening's event would be used for, Antilety indicated that "Some of the funds will be ear-marked to help us pay down the debt on the new building, and also to help us with improvements to the new building, as well as more programs."

With classic movies being displayed on huge curtain screens, the ladies and gents donned their 'Hollywood' finest and enjoyed cocktails and review of the silent auctions items before dinner and dancing. Auction items included a myriad of goodies from gourmet items to trips, sports memoribilia, and luxury and spa treats. Live entertainment was provided by Total Soul and the evening was catered by Brent Newsom.

The 'swanky' and wonderful evening was well appreciated as evidenced in the enthusiasm of the crowd which gathered to support SYS in this enormous venue.

Norman Peck of The Peter J. Sharp Foundation was the evening's honoree, here with his wife Lillian.
