Southampton - Engel & Völkers Real Estate, an international real estate firm now doing business on Main Street in Southampton, hosted an art exhibition Saturday evening for renowned artist
Goran Petmil.
Petmil, who has been a resident of the East End for over 15 years, has exhibited his artwork in both Europe and the United States participating in both solo and group exhibitions. During his illustrious 24 year career as an artist Petmil has earned various special mentions and awards.
His mixed media creations include sculptures, installations, and paintings using a wide variety of unusually found materials, filling galleries and spaces with art works "that act as a looking glass to the viewer's own imagination," the artist explained. The work encourages the viewer to touch and experience the energy of his art.
This latest collection of work, exhibited at Engel & Völkers, is titled "Hampton Homes."
The event was hosted by
Jonathan Lerner, managing director of Engel & Völkers Scarsdale, who recently acquired the Engel & Völkers property shop in Southampton, and the new office manager of the Southampton location
Amadeus Ehrhardt. The opening event was "enormously successful," according to Jonathan Lerner, "with over a hundred local residents, celebrities, and art lovers visiting and enjoying both a selection great works of art and tasting of fine local wines."
Saturday's event, which was by invitation only, was limited to a select group of clientele, however the artwork remained on display throughout the weekend for the enjoyment of local residents and Hampton's visitors.
