Southampton - With the appearance of the first snowdrops and daffodils poking up - along comes the invitation for Green Drinks in Winter, a welcome whiff of spring and reminder that the ice will soon disappear. Over the last two years, the regular Hamptons Green Drinks Gatherings have brought together hundreds of environmental businesspeople, professionals, advocates, officials, educators and people from all over Long Island to share experiences, learn, collaborate, discuss, and grow while having a really good time.

Some 100 guests came out to get the latesst green news at 75 Main. |
The best news picked up that evening came from The Great Green Weekend Hamptons 2009 planners, founders eco-broker
Catherine Bedard and
Nancy Shenker and new to the staff
Darrin Vest. The three-day green celebration will take place Aug. 14 to Aug. 16 with a plethora of parties, educational experiences, and the chance to give back to the earth.
Bedard noted that the weekend will kick-off with "The Greenest Cocktail Party Ever Held in The Hamptons" and remarked, "after you've had a few green-tinis, you can confess your un-green habits on the Green Therapy Couch."
Her co-organizer Shenker detailed the rest of the weekend saying, "On Saturday we will host our big fundraiser Gala Green will bring together some major figures in the Green movement and their supporters to help the work of Captain Planet Foundation and Peconic Land Trust." With all due respect to the inimitable Dr. Seuss, they will also host a "Green Eggs and Ham Brunch" on Sunday prior to opening the doors to The Great Green Show Home, an entire estate - inside and out - filled with beautiful and luxurious options for a greener lifestyle.
As always, Green Drinks is a bargain evening out – there is a modest $5 donation, all drinks are $5 and 75 Main owner
Tim Burke puts out a complimentary buffet.
Guest (Maureen Calamia - Green Feng Shui) from Saint James, NY says:
