With the Hamptons International Film Festival in full swing we headed over to the Filmmakers + Financiers party at East Hampton Studios in Wainscott. Hosted by Michael Wudyka and Mitchell Kriegman from East Hampton Studios and Robert Florio of Hamptons.com the night started late and guests partied until dawn.

The vast studio space, used regularly for TV and film projects by the likes of HBO, was set up as an homage to films, new and old. Guests arrived to scenes of black and white sci-fi films projected on the side of the studio by the folks at Hamptons Drive-In. Upon entering the studio filmmakers headed over for an interview with Hamptons.com's own Matthew Charles (check our Live View section for interview clips). At the far end of the studio the cocktail party space was enclosed in white silk sheers that extended floor to ceiling and served as a backdrop for yet more films, including clips from films playing at the Festival.

Over 400 guests networked and danced the night away thanks to DJ Jelly Bean Benitez including directors Giancarlo Esposito and Benedict Hadley, Betty Matos-Birnbaum, Susie Blitz, Michael Raisler, Phillip Englehorn, Tim and Lydia Spark, Christine Huhn, Terry Ross, Ronnie Monte, Margaret Comber, Ilene Richardson, Lauren Ezersk, Suffolk County Film Commissioner Paul Sylvester, Laura Fox, Zilia Sicre, Terri Gold, Jill Nicolini of CW 11 Morning News, Venus and Paul Monte, Kevin Crouchley, Britta Dubbels, Jay Ricca, Liz Lara, Michael Newmark, Larry and Patricia Zarsky, Sheila Dunlop, John and Linda Olken, Jordan Chariton, Peter Levine, and Ginny and Mark Jennerich. When taking a break between networking and dancing Anya Sapozhnikova, known as 'The Lady Circus,' kept the crowd mesmerized with her acrobatics performed on sashes fixed to the ceiling. Truly breathtaking!

Tommy Bahama Rum and Christiana Vodka provided some spirited cocktails and guests nibbled on delicious late night bites from Thyme & Again in Southampton while Ellen Cea kept everything running smoothly. The night was all about independent filmmaking and the efforts of directors, writers, producers, distributors, and financiers that make it happen.
