Graciously hosted by Luly Duke
on behalf of Fundacion Amistad, which was established in 1997 and is dedicated to fostering better mutual understanding and appreciation between the peoples of the United States and Cuba; as well as Rob Kaimowitz
for The Giving Tree Foundation, Amanda Kraus
for Row New York, and well-known East End talent booker and promoter, Nick Kraus
of The Stephen Talkhouse
for The Wounded Warrior Project, the evening's festivities were enjoyed by all in attendance.
Rock The Hamptons began in 2007 when Kaimowitz and [Nick] Kraus wanted to throw a charity event outdoors that would be a concert and party, but more importantly, affordable. They began with "Rock The Farm

Those proceeds were divided between The Giving Tree Foundation, which distributes net earnings to bona fide charities chosen by band members, including the ALS Association, The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, The Morris Animal Foundation, and The Coalition for the Homeless, and Row New York, a charity founded by Kraus's sister Amanda, which was founded on the belief that a sport which teaches lessons of teamwork, commitment and tenacity to both self and others should be made available, free of charge, to anyone. Row New York relies entirely on donations. Continuing with the idea of these events, Kraus partnered with The Giving Tree Foundation to include The Wounded Warrior Project, which offers assistance to returning veterans.
Rock The Hamptons consists of two events, Saturday's "Rock The Harbor," and the upcoming "Rock The Farm" to be held on Saturday, Aug. 16, at 6 p.m., at John's Lane Farm in East Hampton, again with music by The Giving Tree, food by The Seafood Shop, and special musical guests The Blue Jackets.
