In a gala that honored Russell Simmons, the Ross School raised over than half a million dollars for Ross programs and scholarships, including the Steven J. Ross Scholarship Fund, at their 11th Annual Live @Club Starlight benefit. At the Ross School on June 7, 2014, families, faculty, alumni and notable guests Courtney Sale Ross, Russell Simmons, KC & the Sunshine Band, Star Jones, and Ujjwala Raut enjoyed a night of food, drinks and good music.
After cocktails and a silent auction, dinner prepared by Chef de Cuisine Liz Dobbs and the Ross School Café team. Attendees feasted on Greek-style baby lamb chops, grilled local asparagus, potato skordalia, Moroccan chicken bisteeya, miso-glazed wild salmon and many other delightful dishes.
Following dinner, auctioneer Jenifer Wright lead a live auction that included a seven-night vacation in Jamacia at Villa Janus at Round Hill Resorts, a week at Villa in Chianti, Italy, two tickets to Watch What Happens Live! With Andy Cohen and a spot at the upcoming New York Knicks Pre Fame Ball Kid Experience. In addition to Russell Simmons, co-founder of Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, the event was held in honor of Ross School teachers for their commitment to higher education. Moreover, alumni Alexandra Fairweather and Maximilian Eicke served as Masters of Ceremonies for this year’s event.
Numerous starlight corporate sponsors, including Bridgehampton Florist, Bridgehampton National Bank, The New York Knicks, Russian Standard Vodka and TimeWarner Corporation, made this year’s event possible.
