This fourth of July weekend in the Hamptons, women were feeling the heat. It was nearly impossible to keep the beautifully made up faces from melting off mid-way through the evening’s activities, even with the assistance of powder. Well the household make up name, Covergirl, swooped in to save the day at one local hotspot.
To kick off the summer season and the company’s new Glam Rebel collection, Covergirl hosted the #EasyBreezySummer event at The Surf Lodge in Montauk on Saturday, July 6, 2013.
Guests were welcomed into the Covergirl transformation area which featured tables covered with goodies such as Covergirl phone cases as well as their choice of the new lipslicks smoochies lipbalm, and guests were invited help add their touch by sealing the #EasyBreezySummer monument with a kiss.
Make-up artists, armed with Covergirl’s new Flamed Out shadow pencils and shadow pots in all of the bright colors of summer, tubes of Flamed Out mascara, and jars of the new clean whipped cream foundation, were ready and waiting to help party-goers either touch up their make-up, or give them a fun new summer look.
Marisa Disisto, one of the artists during the event, used the vibrant new colors to do a fantastically colorful eye consisting of purples, lime greens, and turquoise colors. Finishing off with a fun red lip playfully named “Tweet Me,” and a coat of the Flamed Out mascara, the complete look was ready for a night out enjoying the Hamptons summer nightlife.
Showing the collections versatility, Disisto used the Flamed Out shadow pots in golds and browns to create a more sultry, natural look with gold toned eyes, and a soft pink lip.
The one must have thing that women must have for the summer?
“A great lip color,” make-up artist Disisto shared. “The bright pinks, oranges, and reds are so hot this summer.”
And Covergirl had that covered.
Post makeover guests got to take home their brightly hued lip balm, as well as the Flamed out mascara. Cards with all the products and colors used to perform the makeovers were handed over at the end, so the look could be replicated at home.
Now in case you chipped that perfect manicure that was done especially for the weekends festivities, manicurists sat behind the Covergirl nail bar to perform mini manicures with their new Glosstinis nail polish in vibrant colors screaming summer time. Keeping it patriotic in honor of the weekend, there was also an American themed option, complete with stars and stripes.
After the make over was complete, artist Laura Solomon was on hand to draw caricatures, complete with makeup.
All this, while rocking out to beats by Samantha Ronson, and DJ Kiss, who were keeping The Surf Lodge’s already raging crowd on its’ feet.
The heat wave in the Hamptons over fourth of July weekend felt a little more tolerable after getting a whole new look, and a lip gloss to go with it.
