Top Five Holiday Happenings In The Hamptons This Weekend

The holiday season is here so get into the holiday spirit by stopping by one of these Hamptons holiday happenings this weekend from Westhampton Beach to East Hampton.

1. On Saturday, December 1, the Southampton Village will be filled with holiday cheer beginning with the It's a Wonderful Village Holiday Stroll. The all day event features horse and buggy rides from 2 to 4 p.m. with light refreshments at the Chamber of Commerce office (76 Main Street, Southampton). The Southampton Village Parade of Lights Decorated Fire Truck Parade will begin at 4:45 p.m. at Windmill Lane and continue through the Village to Agawam Park. The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting by local Volunteer Ambulance and Fire Departments will start at 5:15 p.m. at Agawam Park. It will feature caroling by "VOSH" (Voices of Southampton High School), and Soloist Julie VanNostrand. Following the lighting a Holiday Reception at the Southampton Cultural Center's Levitas Center for the Arts (25 Pond Lane, Southampton) will begin at 5:30 p.m. Stop by for a visit with Santa, refreshments and musical entertainment by the Cultural Center's piano students and the Prelude Overture String Ensemble. 2. Also on Saturday, December 1, is the Westhampton Beach Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting (170 Main Street at Mill Road, Westhampton Beach) which begins at 5:30pm. Enjoy caroling by The Westhampton Beach High School chorus and the Hampton Synagogue's Youth Choir, free hot chocolate, cookies and potato latkes while waiting for Santa to arrive by fire engine. 3. East Hampton Village is having a Santa Parade welcoming Santa to East Hampton with floats, bands, elves and much more on Saturday, December 1, beginning at 10 a.m. The parade which will last about 30 minutes begins on Main Street and will turn on Newtown Lane. 4. Hampton Bays is holding their Annual Tree Lighting And Visit With Santa on Sunday, December 2, at 4 p.m. The tree lighting will take place across from the Firehouse on Montauk Highway and will be followed with a visit from Santa in Firehouse. Stop by for complimentary hot chocolate, cookies, gifts for the children and every child will receive a photo with Santa. The Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce will be collecting canned good donations to help to restock local food banks. For more information visit www.hamptonbayschamber.com.
