- On Saturday, the Sag Harbor Historical Society

This years' theme was inspired by the February issue of the Sag Harbor Express
which was devoted to Main Street. Vice President Tucker Roth said members of the Historical Society wanted to pay homage to the Village which still looks similar to what it did over 100 years ago.
Their mission is to preserve and educate citizens about what is occurring in the Village and make residents more educated and aware of the preservation. President Nancy French Achenbach was proud at how Sag Harbor has no chain stores and said that the Sag Harbor Historical Society works to keep it that way.
Guests enjoyed music from Tickleslap Music led by Peter Weiss
while dining on hors d'oeuvres from Cynthia Battaglia Distinctive Catering
, Inc. The event included a silent auction where guests could bid on items including a trip to the Wicker Guesthouse in Key West, Florida, tickets to a NY Mets
game, and dinner at the American Hotel
in Sag Harbor. The raffle included items donated by local merchants and Sag Harbor memorabilia like cut-outs of Sag Harbor landmarks like the Custom House or Whaling Museum from the Wharf Shop.
The Mission of the Sag Harbor Historical Society is to promote and encourage public education and appreciation of Sag Harbor history, to work for the preservation of historic buildings and sites and to foster the preservation of the historic character of the village.
