Sag Harbor - On Saturday, renowned designer
Jonathan Adler previewed his upcoming limited-edition line with
Lacoste during a private pool party at The Estate in Sag Harbor. The weather was Hamptons picture-perfect, guests at the preview included Adler's husband
Simon Doonan of Barney's New York, supermodel
Selita Ebanks,
Bravo! host
Andy Cohen, Lacoste President and CEO
Steve Birkhold and his wife
Nicole, and CWE Media President
Charlie Walk. Gracious hosts as always,
EMM Group owners
Mark Birnbaum and
Eugene Remm mingled and mixed while planning for a long night ahead with friends at their swank nightclub,
SL East in East Hampton.

As he lounged poolside watching his seven-year-old nephew Harry toss beachballs at floating plastic crocodiles with Uncle Simon, Adler remarked that he loved "creating shit" when asked about his turn as host of "Top Design" on Bravo. "Hosting," he explained with a smile, "was long hours and lots of travel away from home. But it was a great opportunity and I'm glad I did it." He much prefers pottery and this project to design with Lacoste, a process which he said is "more fufilling." The newly Adler-designed logo is bold, playful, and full of color, much like the designer himself and as equally well recieved by party-goers.
Aside from being the first to get a look at the limited-edition line, guests spent the afternoon poolside sipping Grey Goose specialty cocktails and enjoying a delightful grilled lunch, taking a swim, playing a little tennis, trying their hand at a carnival-inspired pop-gun booth aiming to win stuffed crocodiles, and enjoying other outdoor activities such as badminton, ping pong, and croquet! Jonathan Adler for Lacoste will feature a limited-edition run of shirts that gives the iconic French brand Adler's distinctive "happy chic" twist with a needlepoint design overtop an extra-large crocodile logo. The shirts will be available beginning early November, just in time for the Holiday season.
