East Hampton - The Max Cure Foundation held the Third Annual Roar For A Cure Carnival on August 20, 2011, at the East Hampton Indoor Tennis Club.

The event was attended by hundreds including actress Aida Turturro , former NBA player Trent Tucker , former NFL player Vyto Kab , former New York Mets pitcher John Franco , and celebrity host "Gossip Girl's" Kelly Rutherford. This year's event was "A Roar for Katy," in memory of 12-year-old Katy Stewart, a resident of Sag Harbor, who lost her battle to cancer on December 30, 2010.

The event offered many activities to keep families busy including the Lily Lane tent sponsored by Big City Moms . Inside the tent children could fill up on candy at the Just Sweets candy buffet, get their face painted, enjoy snacks from Plum Organic Tots, decorate photo frames from Hampton Kids and learn about how to work with their curly hair from Ouidad - professionals who were teaching mothers and children how easy it is to work with curly hair and giving free samples of their KIRLY hair line which can be used on children of all ages, including newborns.

For children who were looking for a challenge they could test their skills at several carnival games including ring toss, basketball, water gun fun, and bash-a-bully. They could also show off their swing at t-ball extreme, jump around in the inflatable bouncy house and run through the obstacle course, slide down a giant slide, play miniature golf, climb a rock wall, enjoy a water balloon toss and dunk tank.

For animal lovers the South Fork Natural History Musuem and Nature Center showcased a variety of local animals, including a snapping turtle, eastern tiger salamander, fowlers toad, and spotted turtle. Naturopathica Spa sponsored a relaxation tent for tired parents and inside the main tent guests enjoyed gourmet food and beverages.

The event also featured a silent auction where adults could bid on a variety of items including a signed Roger Federer "Grand Slam" collage, two tickets to the final round of the 2012 Masters, Jose Reyes signed photo, two tickets and backstage passes to Jimmy Fallon and U.S. Open Tennis VIP Experience.

A fun filled day for children and adults for a worthy cause was enjoyed by all.
