Bridgehampton - Carnival rides and games, interactive crafts, and plenty of family fun (despite temps in the 100's) made the day for the nearly 900 guests of the
Children's Museum of the East End (
CMEE) who came out to support this wonderful Hamptons museum this past Saturday morning.
Edie Falco of "Nurse Jackie" along with co-chairs
Mariska Hargitay of "Law & Order SVU" and lifestyle expert
Katie Brown added their support bringing the kiddies out for a day of laid back entertainment that started with facepainting and clowns as you entered the grounds of the CMEE. Parents sipped iced coffees from Hamptons Coffee Company and youngsters raced ahead to the Coolhaus Ice Cream truck for an icy treat covered in sprinkles of course. Those looking to cool off a bit took turns inside the museum where they could get their sugar rush at the
Dylan's Candy Bar candy craft of Crumbs Cupcakes in the lobby between performances by the
Big Apple Circus To Go,
The Anna Jack Show, and
The Hey-Ya Brothers.

Super Soccer Stars kept the little ones moving outside near the pop-up petting zoo complete with bunnies and goats. Children also took turns enjoying with pony rides and cooling off in the many water bouncy houses erected for the day.
The task of creating healthy lunches went to Brown who got into the spirit of the day creating special "bucket" lunches that ranged from flank steak flatbread sandwiches to cornflake chicken. "I wanted to cook something kid-friendly and healthy," she remarked. After lunch it was time for more treats, this time form the
Soft Serve Fruit Co. and Sweet Loren's Cookies. Suncreen was a must on the blazing day and convenient application stations were smatterd across the grounds thanks to Sunbow Sunscreen.
The extensive silent auction, with tickets to the
Jimmy Fallon tapings, major sporting events, and dinners at exclusive restaurants in the Hamptons and New York City, was key to raising over $200,000 during the event. CMEE Executive Director
Steve Long was a positively jubilant host and made the rounds checking on each guest throughout the day declaring that, "This is such a great day!" Truer words were never spoken.
