- Team Heathcote Farm and Team Black Watch thundered down the field at Week 2 of the Mercedes-Benz
Polo Challenge at Blue Star Jets
All eyes were on the field.
The match on Saturday was greeted with warm but pleasant temperatures, unlike last week's opening where the mercury rose to record-breaking levels, leaving horses, players, fans and spectators gasping with not just excitement but thirst as well.
The 'tail gate' tents were filled to capacity again on Saturday with guests of this season's partners, including Mercedes-Benz, SWAGG, Blue Star Jets, Ralph Lauren
, La Societe Stella Artois
, Smart Water, Pop Chips
, Coca-Cola, Bertaud Belieu
Wines, Jarlsberg cheese, Zino Platinum Cigars, Crumbs Cupcakes and Bakery, Financial Times
, Susan Foster Jewelry and Hamptons Magazine
The competition on the field was fast and fierce as both teams kept the energy and excitement constant. For those more interested in what was happening on the field of play versus who was spotted in the main tent, these teams certainly did not disappoint. There may have been bold-faced names, however, all eyes were on the non-stop action on the field.
Headed into Week 3 the matches will take place for a total of six weeks and conclude on August 28.
A portion of the proceeds from the Mercedes-Benz Bridgehampton Polo Challenge will go to the South Fork Breast Health Coalition. The V.I.P. tent will host an invitation-only cocktail reception for exclusive guests each Saturday afternoon during the tournament, and matches will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The moderate temperature was certainly appreciated by both players and spectators.
