The Hamptons is a social universe unique in so many ways. From the way we socialize, to the way we do business, to the way we support the arts. It all came together once again in the East End on Friday, November 6 as art and commerce synthesized in a networking event that combined art, jazz and business at and in support of the Parrish Art Museum.
Children, adults and four-footed friends all strutted their stuff in both Southampton and Sag Harbor in celebration of Halloween and the annual Rag-A-Muffin parade in each community. Treats were on the mind and tricks were pondered by dozens of ghoulish, ghastly and ghostly parade marchers! 1 comment Gallery
It turns out, at least for this reporter, that Sunday at the Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) turned out to be as busy as Saturday. Mother Nature has definitely cooperated this year, as the village was packed with pedestrians on another beautiful day. 1 comment
Thank goodness for my comfy bed at the Huntting Inn, because after just two days at the Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) I was already exhausted and collapsed into sleep Friday night following the Breakthrough Artists reception at Georgica Restaurant. Draw up how you'd like to start your work week and this might be what it looks like, exactly how it would go. A day on the links - not too hot, not too cold - a little competition, good company, fine fare, and best of all, at Monday's 2nd Annual Ann Liguori Foundation Charity Golf Classic, all proceeds went toward the American Cancer Society and Healthy Children, Healthy Futures, a wellness program that teaches East End youth about good nutrition and fitness. Not that the Coopers Beach parking lot is usually full this time of the year, but ocean goers on Saturday, September 25 found half of it coned off as a film crew to set up base camp at the Southampton oceanfront location. As has happened often over the years, "Sex And The City" (SATC) has once again transformed the Hamptons into Hollywood.
The beautiful Westhampton Beach Country Club was the site of this year's Peconic Bay Medical Center (PBMC) Black & White Benefit. A group of Hamptons ladies now known as the 'Calendar Girls,' doffed their clothes for the creation of a 'PG Rated' calendar to help raise funds for the restoration of the centuries old Halsey House. Editor's Note: Based on the extraordinary recognition given to HBO's brilliant film "Grey Gardens" at this year's Emmy Awards, we thought our readers would like to revisit the Hamptons.com article written and aired on our site the week of the film's premiere. We think there is a no better back story written about our Beales of East Hampton. Enjoy! 14 comments

Maybe the key to Cavett's success was that he did not try to mimic his predecessors, but sought to re-create them for a new generation, and in the process created an entirely new way to think about the way to do late night talk. We spoke with the consummate conversationalist over lunch in Manhattan.
Sheets of rain proved little deterrent to the 500 environmentally conscious food-savvy contributors that slogged their way through a soggy parking field to an oasis of savory finger foods and crisp wine pairings that awaited them beneath the event tent amid the fields at Wolffer Estate Vineyards. 2 comments
The event was dubbed "A Splash of Red on the Bay" and the B. Smith's Restaurant setting was ideal. The Suffolk County Chapter of the American Red Cross threw a heck of a fundraiser on Aug. 29 in Sag Harbor.
