The much anticipated season three of “Girls” debuted on Monday, January 6, at Lincoln Center in New York City to a star-studded crowd which included Seth Meyers, Steve Buscemi and Anna Wintour, Joel McHale, Bill Hader, Tracy Anderson, Danny Strong, Amy Schumer, Anna Chlumsky, John Oliver, Lisa Lampanelli, Stephanie March, Zac Posen, Lydia Hearst, Karlie Kloss, Natasha Lyonne, Gabe Saporta and Erin Fetherston, Max Greenfield, Tristan Wilds, Nicky Hilton, Arianna Huffington, Nanette Lepore, Vanessa Bayer, Brian Williams, Jennifer Westfeldt, and Cristin Milioti.
Also in attendance were “Girls” Producer Judd Apatow and cast members Lena Dunham (who created the show), Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke, Zosia Mamet, Alex Karpovsky, and Andrew Rannells.
During the third season of the HBO hit, the girls will take a trip to the North Fork. Dunham, Williams, Kirke and Mamet were spotted filming at various Greenport locations last summer. The episode was inspired by a trip that Dunham and “Girls” Executive Producer Jenni Konner took during the summer of 2012. While staying at the home of “Girls” Director Jesse Peretz, the group decided they wanted to include a beach episode in the upcoming season.
We hear that’s not the only time Hannah, Marnie, Jessa, and Shoshanna will leave the City. “We do a little traveling in the first episode and the second episode. A little bit of a road trip,” Executive Producer Ilene S. Landres told Hamptons.com. “We haven’t been in the studio much at all, so we’re sort of more out and about. Let’s put it this way, we’ve gotten out of the five Boroughs of New York City.”
Season three of “Girls” will debut on HBO at 10 p.m. on Sunday, January 12.
