acted as Honorary Chairs for an Evening of Friends, Food and Dancing celebrating the New Year and the 80th Birthday of the lengendary Marty Richards
The evening also benefitted The Mary Lea Johnson Richards Research Institute with dancing to the music of Lonnie Youngblood
and his band.
The celebration was held at the Rubin Museum of Art in New York City, and was underwritten by Richards

In his first 80 years, Richards has enjoyed an amazing professional life that has been recognized with multiple Tony Awards, Drama Desk Awards, a Golden Globe
, the BAFTA
, and the Academy Award. His productions have been seen worldwide by millions, and have become iconic in the worlds of theatre, film, and music.
He also had a deep and abiding love in his wife - Mary Lea
- a love that has lived on beyond her years through the various organizations he founded in her memory.
The Mary Lea Johnson Richards Research Institute has become one of the outstanding research facilities for liver, kidney, and pancreatic diseases. The importance of this research has become even more significant to Richards this past year, as he has been fighting the brave fight with liver cancer.
