New York City - The Perlman Music Program is proud to announce that their Annual Spring Benefit held in NYC this week was a success. There was a fantastic group who gathered for dinner at Bar Boulud, including Arlene and Alan Alda, Sidney and Morgan Stark, Emanuel Ax, Yo-Yo Ma, Laura Sloate, and Barbara Gladstone. Several of PMP's students also joined the festivities! Dinner was followed by a private dress rehearsal of "Live from Lincoln Center," which featured Itzhak Perlman, Emanuel Ax, and Yo-Yo Ma. The intimate setting made for a truly stunning musical event.

Cocktails and dinner were followed by a special behind-the-scenes dress rehearsal of "Live from Lincoln Center." The Dinner provided the opportunity for all of PMP's supporters to gather in celebration of the Program's continued growth and accomplishments - a perfect compliment to a wonderful evening filled with memorable music and exquisite food.

The evening's concert was an unforgettable performance of chamber music including Mendelssohn's Trio in C minor; excerpts from Mendelssohn's Trio in D minor and Cello Sonata No. 2; and Schumann's "Phantasiestücke," Op. 73 and Op. 12. The performance was held in Lincoln Center's Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse in the Rose Building - a truly magnificent, yet intimate setting for the trio.

Benefit Committee members included Arlene and Alan Alda, Shoshana and Jay Dweck; Emilia and Jose Pepe Fanjul; Dr. Marjorie Fisher; Janice Gerton; Barbara Gladstone; Howard Gottlieb; Fanya Heller; Toby and Itzhak Perlman; Carol and Lawrence Saper; Laura Sloate; Sidney and Morgan Stark; Bruce and Suzie Kovner; and Michael and Hanni Troise. Proceeds from the Benefit are earmarked for The Perlman Music Program's Annual Fund.

The Perlman Music Program was established by Toby Perlman in 1993 to provide a positive learning environment and a world-class faculty, led by Itzhak Perlman, for exceptionally promising young violin, viola, cello and bass students. Through intensive summer programs, year-round mentoring, and on occasion, an international study or performance tour, the Program offers unparalleled music training for students, ages 12 and above, who play the violin, viola, cello, and bass. With faculty led by Itzhak Perlman and comprising some of the most gifted musical minds of our time, the Program offers an artistic and personal experience that changes students' lives forever.

The Perlman Music Program has quickly developed an international reputation as a leader in the field of classical musical training institutions.
