Southampton - Big parties, famous names, and worthy causes - the social season in the Hamptons heats up in the summer and never seems to end. We made the rounds time and time again this year mixing and mingling with socialites, business moguls, and politicians. Here's a look back at the events that really topped the charts.

Polo Benefit: Prince Harry Plays Four Chukkers For The Cause
By Douglas Harrington
Thoroughbred racing may be called the Sport of Kings, but Polo, at least one sunny afternoon on Governor's Island off Manhattan, could best be described as the Sport of Princes. As part of his royal visit to New York City, HRH Prince Henry of Wales took to the ponies to raise funds for children in need in Africa, as their prince and Harry's friend, HRH Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, cheered him on.

Rock The Farm Hits A High Note For Wounded Warriors
By Colin M. Graham
Here in the Hamptons, the summer season marks a plethora of galas, benefits, fundraisers and the occasional event that combines those three slightly stiff-lipped fetes with an honest to goodness, no holds barred Bacchanalian-esque party. This past weekend the Rock the Farm benefit for the Wounded Warrior Project was one such event that split the difference between supporting a great cause and having an unbelievable time.

Governor Paterson Attends The Hamptons Tea Dance In Support Of Empire State Pride Agenda
By Douglas Harrington
Dedicated to winning equality and justice for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans-gender New Yorkers and their families, on July 11 the Empire State Pride Agenda celebrated their 17th Annual Hamptons Tea Dance with an overflow crowd that included the governor of the Empire State himself, David Paterson, and United States Senator Kristen Gillibrand. Hosted again this year at the home of Will Trinkle and Juan Granados, the turn-out for the event was nothing short of overwhelming, as although the event was sold out days earlier, almost 500 walk-up, day of sale supporters, who could no longer purchase tickets online, flooded into the celebration.

Supporters Turn Out En Masse For Rockin' For The Homeless Benefit
By Nicole B. Brewer
The streets of Riverhead and much of the East End were covered in ice as temps dipped well below freezing but that didn't stop over 400 people from heading to Polish Hall in Riverhead for the "Rockin' for the Homeless" benefit concert for Maureen's Haven Homeless Outreach. In fact, while the event began at 6:30 p.m., there were hopefuls coming to the door as late as 9 p.m. to buy tickets and in typical Maureen's Haven form, no one was turned away.

Historical Figures Of Southampton 'Revealing' Calendar Launch To Raise Funds For Halsey House Restoration
By Edward Callaghan
A group of Hamptons ladies now known as the "Calendar Girls," doffed their clothes for the creation of a 'PG Rated' calendar to help raise funds for the restoration of the centuries old Halsey House. The glamorous result of their unabashed support for the Southampton Historical Museum's efforts to preserve and promote the history and culture of Southampton, "Historical Figures of Southampton," went on display at The Mark Humphrey Gallery on Friday, Sept. 25, and drew a packed house to the Main Street, Southampton gallery.

By Douglas Harrington
Thursday, October 8 marked the start of the 17th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF). In less than two decades this cinematic extravaganza has grown in both size and prestige, drawing to it some of the world's most respected actors, producers and directors, along with the emerging stars of the next generation of filmmakers. Along with screening over 100 films, many of which are American and world premieres, the HIFF features a multitude of collateral programs and events that give attendees and participants alike the opportunity to meet, greet, network and learn about an industry that entertains and enlightens, fascinates and influences our culture like no other art form.
