Southampton - Americans are preparing to head home for the holidays, but turkey and tree-trimming may not be on the top of everyone's mind. National off-price retailer, HomeGoods, recently conducted a survey that reveals which celebrities Americans want to deck-the-halls with this holiday season.
Talk About A Party: Toast With Ellen
As the number one cocktail party guest, 39 percent of Americans chose
Ellen DeGeneres followed by
Whoopi Goldberg at 29 percent.
Kelly Ripa and
Kathie Lee Gifford round out the list with 21 percent and 11 percent of the votes, respectively.
Christmas With Clooney
Forty-three percent of Americans want to spend one day of their holiday vacation at
George Clooney's Lake Como villa. Compared to the 27 percent that want to relax at
Oprah's $50 million Santa Barbara estate. And that's not all.
Brad Pitt and
Angelina Jolie's French chateau beat out
Jay-Z and
Beyonce's New York City pad with 20 percent of the votes versus 11 percent.
Tree-Trimming - First Lady Style
First Lady,
Michelle Obama, gets America's vote when it comes to decorating homes for the holidays with 38 percent, while 22 percent want former Vice Presidential candidate,
Sarah Palin, to do the honors.
Playboy founder,
Hugh Hefner came in third with 16 percent, beating out comedian,
Joan Rivers with 13 percent and superstar,
Lady Gaga at 11 percent. If it were up to men to choose the decorator, 25 percent would pick Hefner to hang the mistletoe, while 46 percent of the women would hope for the First Lady to trim the tree.
