New York - On Friday, October 29, 2010, the incomparable showgirl, Bette Midler, hosted a star-studded costume party called "Hulaween," to benefit the New York Restoration Project (NYRP).

Midler has earned four Grammy Awards, two Academy Award nominations, three Emmy Awards, one Tony Award, three Golden Globe Awards, and nine American Comedy Awards.

This year's event honored U.S. Senator John Kerry and featured a special performance by Paul Simon, a costume contest judged by Michael Kors, and emcee Judy Gold conducted a live auction. Celebrity guests included John McEnroe, Patty Smyth, Marlo Thomas, Phil Donahue, Joy Behar, Gloria Steinem, Elaine May, Thalía Mottola, Philip Glass, Gilles Marini, Liz Smith, Nolé Marin, Jann Wenner, Marc Shaiman, Scott Whitman, Holland Taylor, and other notables, socialites and friends.

The New York Restoration Project (NYRP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to reclaiming and restoring New York City parks, community gardens and open space.
