New York City - HRH Prince Edward came to dinner at the Core Club on May 18, and so did many of New York's boldest boldface names. They stayed to really party thanks to an amazing performance by
Wyclef Jean and his
Fugee band mates. Staid, solid, serious New Yorkers were on their feet, singing, dancing, arm waving, boogying and and having the best time. It wasn't your usual Royal event!

Peter Max, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, and HRH The Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex. |
The dinner, hosted by
David Hyrck in honor of the Prince, who was visiting New York on behalf of his father,
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Fellows Program, brought out New York's finest A-listers -
Georgette Mosbacher,
Elizabeth Kabler,
Randy and
Connie Jones,
Colin Cowie,
Beth Rudin deWoody and handsome son
Carlton,
Frank Burch,
Richard Smullen,
Catherine Saxton,
Charles and
Clo Cohen, the beautiful
Petra Nemcova and the always popular crowd pleaser,
Dr. Ruth.
Wyclef sat beside the Prince and spoke passionately about the on-going problems in his
homeland of Haiti. Then he brought the crowd to their feet, and amazed them with his feat of playing an amazing guitar track with his tongue. You had to be there - and if you were, you were a very happy partygoer - all in the cause of two great charities.
