Sag Harbor's Dylan Collins Sings At Neighborghood Inaugural Ball

Dylan Jenet Collins of Sag Harbor at rehearsals in Washington, DC readies for the
Neighborhood Inaugural Ball where she will perform Tuesday night.

Washington DC – While many of the millions of Americans tuning into President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony will be celebrating this occasion from the comfort of their homes or offices, one rather lucky and very talented 11-year-old girl from Sag Harbor will be on stage during the Neighborhood Inaugural Ball helping President Obama celebrate this historic achievement in person.

It won't be the first time Dylan Jenet Collins has shared the stage with our soon to be President, she was invited to sing at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) this past August where she belted out stunning renditions of Alicia Key's song "No One" followed by "All I Do" by Stevie Wonder.

Even before her performance at the DNC, Dylan was no stranger to singing in front of a live audience. Performing locally since she was five-years-old, Dylan won the "Star of Tomorrow Award" at the famous Apollo Theater in 2006 and she toured nationally in the role of Young Nala in the stage version of Disney's "The Lion King." But it isn't just her outstanding vocal ability that has earned her the right to perform alongside artists like Beyonce, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Faith Hill, Jay-Z, and Alicia Keys, Dylan herself is a huge Obama supporter, having written her debut song entitled "Change" about the President-elect.

Although she is currently busy with the hectic rehearsal schedule surrounding the inauguration, Hamptons.com will be speaking with Dylan when she returns from the Capitol for her take on what it was like to be a part of such an important event in our nation's history.
