Camp BPC Wellness House
Last week I stumbled upon the best kept secret in Southampton - The BPC week-long Day Camp. The Wellness House was the brainchild of Blue Print Cleanse co-owners and raw food enthusiasts Zoe Sakoutis and Erica Huss, the developers of the popular nutritional cleanse program designed to detoxify the body.

The exclusive day camp kicked off with an hour-long yoga class taught by Jill Snowden on the sprawling front lawn of the private Southampton estate.

After a light breakfast of fresh fruit and coffee happy campers took part in an interactive raw foods cooking class that consisted of edamame hummus, vegetable spring rolls and chocolate mousse with fresh raspberries.

Raw fruit mini facials, massages, scalp and hair treatments, non-intimidating nutritional counseling with clinical nutritionist Christian Henderson that provided a few take home tips, Pilates and croquet rounded out the day's festivities.

"I've had an interest in raw foods for a long time before anyone heard of it," said Sakoutis, "I was in it [the raw food movement] but not liking it too much because it was a little bit too dogmatic but the health benefits were amazing. So I figured this would be a great thing to do if you could make it easy and mobile and accessible and not too extreme for people, so that's how BPC spawned. Erica's background is in PR and it was just a nice fit for us."

"We've been friends for about nine years," said Huss. "When we started the company in 2007 it just seemed that it was the right place, right time and right meshing of skills."

And what's next for Blue Print Cleanse?

"We're checking into doing our day camp again in Southhampton in August," said Huss. "We have a lot of plans for expansion, so stay tuned."

Christy Turlington-Burns And Temperley Hamptons Event
International supermodel and activist Christy Turlington-Burns partnered with Temperley London gowns on Saturday, July 18 in East Hampton to benefit CARE, a foundation focusing on maternal and child health.

"Every minute a woman dies of complications in pregnancy and childbirth," said Turlington-Burns. "Most of these deaths could be prevented."

The August 2009 Vogue magazine cover girl is wrapping up her first documentarty film "No Woman No Cry," about a variety of women's issues, that's slated for a 2010 release.

"My husband ["The Brothers McMullen" director Ed Burns] is very supportive, he's a filmmaker but not a documentary filmmaker, it's a different kind of animal," said Turlington-Burns.

In case you're wondering if there is a secret society of supermodels - "Me, Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista stay in touch as much as our schedules allow," said Turlington-Burns. "But we do send each other Christmas cards every year."

Jessica Seinfeld, Jason and Haley Binn and New York Ranger left-winger Aaron Voros stopped by the fundraiser at the Temperley boutique in East Hampton to lend their support.

"I'm glad to be here," said Voros. "Hockey players appreciate fashion. I like Versace, Gucci shoes for men and I'm a big fan of blue star denim."

Art For Life Brunch
Hamptons scenesters Nia Gandy and Rory Williams hosted the Art for Life VIP brunch on Sunday, July 19 at HYT ME's Southampton estate. Former Denver Bronco Ray Crockett, model and Nigerian princess Keisha Omilana, executive director of Russell Simmons Diamond Empowerment fund Ellen Haddigan, Argyle Allure head designer Myorr Janha and New York Times best selling author Larry "Ratso" Sloman brunched on chicken and pancakes, bagels and lox, scrambled eggs, turkey bacon and sausage and sipped Belvedere Vodka watermelon martinis and Sauvignon Blanc from City Winery.

TV titan Oprah Winfrey was a Brunch no-show but the previous night sent $100,000 to Russell Simmons Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation Art For Life that supports youth arts education.

"We wanted to support Russell [Simmons] and all the great work he's doing at Rush Philanthropic," said brunch hostess Gandy, "We want people to feel at home and enjoy themselves today."

Her mission was accomplished, to the point that I was helping myself to smart water and Peroni beer out of the Subzero fridge.
