Life@Nite: East End Oktoberfest Edition

Rowdy Hall (10 Main Street in the Parrish Mews, East Hampton, 631-324-8555, rowdyhall.com) is kicking off the East End Oktoberfest festivities. On Saturday, September 16, join Rowdy, which will be transformed into a German beer garden with picnic tables in the courtyard and communal dining tables in the dining room, for a traditional Oktoberfest festival from 3 to 5 p.m. Attendees can nosh on German bar snacks like fresh baked pretzels with mustard, knockwurst, bratwurst and bockwurst platters and Bavarian music will play from 4 to 6 p.m. in the courtyard weather. Anthony of WEHM will broadcast from the annual celebration, weather permitting. If you miss the kick-off party, don't worry because German fare will be offered at Rowdy through Sunday, October 1.

Get ready to ask for noch ein bier, bitte (another beer please) at Bistro 72 at Hotel Indigo (1830 West Main Street, Riverhead, 631-369-3325, bistro-72.com) who will pay homage to this legendary Bavarian festival on Saturday, September 30. From 1 to 4 p.m., festivalgoers will enjoy traditional German fare, Warsteiner's specialty Oktoberfest beer - which is brewed in limited quantities, Warsteiner's Grapefruit Special Edition beer, a virtual reality tour of the village where Warsteiner has been brewed since 1753, live music by Smitty's Polka Band, the time honored keg tapping ceremony, and the beloved mug holding contest.

Zum Schneider Montauk (4 South Elmwood Avenue, Montauk, 631-238-5963, zumschneider.com) will present four chances to prost (cheers) to Oktoberfest. On Saturday, October 14 from 12 to 11 p.m., Sunday, October 15 from 12 to 7 p.m., Saturday, October 21 from 12 to 11 p.m. and Sunday, October 22 from 12 to 7 p.m., the Montauk-based bierhaus will have live music from Mösl Franzi and the JaJaJa's, Oktoberfest fare - Wiesn Hendl (broiled chicken), Haxn (pork shank), Riesenbrezn (giant pretzels) - and imported Oktoberfest beers, of course.

Baron's Cove (31 West Water Street, Sag Harbor, 844-227-6672, www.baronscove.com) will present its second annual Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday, October 14 from 1 to 5 p.m. Attendees can nosh on a variety of treats - like German-style pretzels, sauerkraut, bratwurst and Steckerlfisch - and wash it down with seasonal beer or a glass of German wine. Live music will begin at 2 p.m.

Help Is Here Hurricane Response Project, an Oktoberfest-themed benefit, will support Team Rubicon's disaster response efforts in the U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean. Taking place at Solé East (90 2nd House Road, Montauk, www.eventbrite.com) on Sunday, October 15, from 5 to 8 p.m., revel in the season with music, raffles, s'mores, pumpkin crafts, hot cider, and more. Admission is $10 to $25.

The Ram's Head Inn's (108 Ram Island Drive, Shelter Island Heights, 631-749-0811, www.theramsheadinn.com) Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 21 will feature live music from Points East, a Pig Roast, local brews and ciders, and classic German fare, of course. Taking place from 1 to 5 p.m., the festive affair will also include a raffle benefiting AmeriCares' hurricane relief efforts for Puerto Rico. Admission is $15 for children and $40 for adults.

Garden of Eve (4558 Sound Avenue, Riverhead, 631-722-8777, gardenofevefarm.com) is hosting the final East End Oktoberfest celebration on Sunday, October 29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The shindig will feature sips from the Garden of Eve Farm Brewery and Long Island Craft Beer, pumpkin picking, farm tours, vendors, hayrides, family fun, live Bluegrass by Buddy Merriam and the Backroads, and others, roasted sweet corn and squash, fresh-squeezed lemonade, organic hot dogs, a pedal kart track, maze, and lavender labyrinth, and other exciting activities.
