Southampton - Dashing, dining and dipping poolside kept Hamptonites busy this past week - all in pursuit of good company and great fun.

Gilt City opened their Hamptons' House at a private residence in Bridgehampton. This is Gilt City's first Hamptons' house and it debuted with dinner and cocktails with chef Scott Contant. On Wednesday, Godiva hosted a Hill Country Barbeque. Hill Country chef Elizabeth Karmel cooked her famous mouthwatering barbeque, and even created a red velvet cupcake decorated with Godiva Red Velvet Ultimate Dessert Truffles in honor of the Ultimate Dessert Truffles Collection, a new collection launching this September. Gilt City will have a range of events at their Hamptons House ending on Labor Day with a Poolside Shake Shack Party.

In between all the fantastic happenings, try grabbing a reservation and meal at the wonderful T-Bar at Savanna's in Southampton (located on our very favorite Elm Street). The food, staff, decor and atmosphere are all available to allow you to indulge and enjoy. Try the 8 oz. filet mignon or sea bass with any of the substantial side dishes, including creamy mashed potatoes and/or the baby asparagus. We started with a crabcake, cold tomato soup, as well as Caesar and Iceburg salads - simply delicious - in particular the Iceburg salad with large chunks of blue cheese will have you ordering it in house, and ordering a second to take home for lunch the next day. This is an attractive location across from the Southampton train station, so plenty of activity to keep you engaged people watching both inside and outside of the restaurant. The decor is simple yet elegant and sophisticated with some interesting wall art, and the staff is both helpful and knowledgable about the menu items. Enjoy a wonderful respite at this Southampton gem - and you will leave sated and satisified that there is still a restaurant in the Hamptons where you actually have ample elbow room and a calm atmosphere to enjoy a delicious meal.
