Southampton - Summer is still in full swing, even during these 'dog days' with so much to do and so many places to go, the fun just never ends here in the Hamptons.
On Friday, August 12, 2011 a pre-event for the American Cancer Society's 'Festive in Flip Flops' Inaugurial Hamptons Summer Bash was held at the
Christopher Fischer Store in East Hampton. Guests included
Joni Fisher, Festive in Flip Flop chairs
Sherri Abruzzese and
Gopa Dobson,
Eleanor Kennedy and
Anna Safur. Guests sipped on wine from Duck Walk Vineyards and recieved 15 percent off full price merchandise on Christopher Fischer collections and 10 percent of all proceeds were donated to the American Cancer Society. Festive in Flip Flops will be held Saturday August 20, 2011 at the
Bridgehampton Tennis and Surf Club.
On August 13, 2011,
Gail Schoentag opened her gallery doors in Sag Harbor to unveil the work of eight internationally acclaimed artists. The reception, which also served as a kickoff party for the upcoming American Cancer Society's Festive in Flip Flops benefit, brought out over 300 art lovers. The exhibition entitled "Limits and Desperate" featured paintings, photography and videos curated by Professor
Ludwig Seyfarth, and was attended by artists
Eric Decastro,
Anke Röhrscheid and
Josef Schoeffmann. Artwork by
Nathalie Grenzhaeuser,
Florian Heinke,
Clare Langan and
Bjørn Melhus/Yves Netzhammer was also shown.

Tom DePetris performed live jazz at the gallery located at 112 Hampton Street. The "Limits and Desperate" exhibition will be on display at the gallery until September 20, 2011.
Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks will return to South Edison on Friday, August 19 and Saturday, August 20 from 10 p.m. until 1 a.m. Their Americana-pop-swing blend, familiar to fans of NPR's "A Prairie Home Companion" and the award-winning HBO series "Boardwalk Empire," will have South Edison swinging.
On September 3, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Comedienne
Sandra Bernhard will make her inaugural appearance at the Old Mill Inn in Mattituck on Friday, August 26. The show begins at 8 p.m. Bernhard will be performing selections from her first official comedy album in 10 years, "I Love Being Me, Don't You?" The evening will give fans a rare opportunity to see Bernhard, who recently appeared at Town Hall in New York and the Leicester Square Theatre in London, in a very intimate setting.

Melissa George. The pair arrived fashionably late in a cream colored Volkswagen Beatle. The evening carried out with guests mingling while sipping on cocktails and hor d'oeuvres from Elegant Affairs. The party also hosted an exclusive jewelry trunk show that showcased the designs of
Judith Ripka and the Somaly Mam Foundation. The event was the fifth of the season for
Social Life Magazine. Notables who attended included
