Time for Teens has one camp per year with three to four workshops, and was founded by
Laraine Gordon in 2007. Gordon is a licensed clinical social worker with a private practice for the last 15 years in Southampton. She started Time for Teens to create an environment geared toward grieving adolescents. The children who attend the workshops live on the East End and range in ages from 12 to 19.
This year the four day bereavement retreat will take place August 1 through August 4, 2011. Approximately 20 children participate in each camp and during
the retreat they will go to daily group therapy with professional licensed therapists, psychodrama, and daily activities such as yoga, basketball, swimming and a golf clinic. Time for Teens also gives away scholarships for children who have attended their retreats.
