Amaryllis Farm Equine Rescue hosted a fundraiser event at Stephen's Talkhouse. (Christopher Beninati)

Southampton - On Friday, May 20 the Amaryllis Farm Equine Rescue hosted a fundraiser event at Stephen's Talkhouse in Amagansett. The Amaryllis Farm Equine works on saving horses from the local community around the world. The goal of this not-for-profit organization is to rescue, rehabilitate and maintain distressed horses and take care of their every need.

The volunteers who dedicate their time, money and effort into the farm make this rescue center for horses unique and special. Sandy Holzman who is one of the volunteers stressed the importance of the help they receive, "The farm runs on all volunteer work and runs only on donations. There are eight locations with saved horses who once were showcased in the Hampton Classic as well horses that were left unattended to by people." The horses come from all around the world and are available for adoption. Adopting a horse at the rescue will pay for their foods, supplements and medication. At the event, cover band Mojo Wire rocked out and covered classic hits from Johnny Cash to Bob Dylan.

Every week leading up to the much-anticipated Memorial Day Weekend there has been major nightlife news and rumors flying around the Hamptons. A major change that is not a rumor, is the old Madame Tong's space being turned into a new American styled speak easy with a new and inventive menu. The space will reopen with a brand new décor with heavy influence from the 1920s and a twist of polo chic. The space will now be called Southampton Social Club. Chef Matt Creason has created a menu with local ingredients at the epicenter, with a new cocktail menu including all fresh ingredients that are playful yet defined.
