Southampton - Hold on to your hats! The summer's sweltering heat bids you a steamy farewell, as the weeping willows are whispering cashmere and knits. The temps are dropping yes indeed, but the parties are pumping hotter than ever.

Real Housewives of New York, Sonja Morgan and R. Houri Hay hosted a Hampton Social Series event at Lily Pond on Friday. Close friends, socialites and supporters gathered for an intimate evening that salutes the American Friends of Blérancourt. The organization supports the French National Museum in Picardie, France. The museum exhibits beautiful artwork, vintage war photographs, historical documents and tons of other memorable snippets of French-American history. Guests enjoyed cocktails and an elegant dinner at Lily Pond last weekend. Overall, everyone came together for a great cause. Among the guests of the evening were Andrea Correale, Harry Dubin, Francesco Santoro, Micheal Katz, Harold Grant and Dany David. Morgan says she has been committed to the cause with the hope of preserving French American history for a long time now. "Every year we organize trips to different parts of Europe, host yearly galas and hold art shows at my house. I put a lot of heart and soul into it."

Hope for a cure. The Ellen Hermanson Foundation, sponsor of Ellen's Run, held the annual HEAT gala Saturday evening at Steven Klein's estate in Bridgehampton. The cause attracted quite the crowd with guests including Christie Brinkley, Hope Klein Langer, Lisa Schifter Greenberg, Russell Simmons and Donna Karen all with high hopes for the fight against breast cancer. The foundation is devoted to continuing the tireless work of Ellen Hermanson, former breast cancer patient and activist. Ellen's commitment to educating breast cancer patients and strong voice about the fight for life is lived on today through the efforts of her sister, Julie Ratner and her vision through the organization. Through compassion, committed organizations, educational efforts and Donna Karen's new holistic approach to the fight against breast cancer there is hope in the Hamptons. Hundreds of patients, survivors and friends lined up for the annual 5K race at Southampton Hospital Sunday morning. Every patient deserves undeniable support and a chance to fight for their right to life.

On your mark get set, go! Last weekend hundreds of runners put their best feet first at the Lung Cancer Research Foundation's annual Stride for Life run at Lake Agawam in Southampton. Over 1,000 supporters gathered under the sun to raise funds for lung cancer research. Lung cancer survivors Joey Smith and Joe Buckheit cut the ribbon to kick off the race alongside the co-anchor of Fox 5 News, Rosanna Scotto, who was cheering among the crowd. The runners split up into teams in memory of their loved ones and away they ran, with a tee-shirt and tote awaiting the first 1,000 runners at the finish line. Tory Burch designed exclusive tee-shirts for the event with the slogan, "Run, Breathe, Live." Strides for Life has raised over $2 million for lung cancer research, continuing to find a cure for the disease.

Brian Farrell, an artist, has worked to donate pieces of his art for charity. Helping more than 150,000 children with facial deformities, Young Adult Chair, Danielle Warwick and the committee are focused on putting a smile on every child's face around the world.

If you're in the Hamptons for business, hopefully you get to enjoy New York's hotspots for pleasure! Guests laced up their chucks and put their skills to the test Saturday at the "Jacked in the Hamptons" party for pleasure at The Estate. Details Magazine and Team Converse offered cocktails and tennis for guests, as they showcased a palette of colors featuring Jack Purcell. Batter up! The 62nd annual Artists versus Writers Charity Softball Game was more than a big hit in East Hampton this year. With the first pitch up in the air, the game was already a cat and mouse chase. It was hard to keep up with so many great plays. By the end of the 10th inning the artists took the lead 15 to 14. Proceeds from the event benefit East Hampton Day Care, Phoenix Houses of Long Island, which offer substance abuse treatment and East End Hospice, which provides terminally ill patients with care. If you're not a big tennis fan and miss swinging a racket, you may have been playing in the matches during squash week. Southampton Youth Services had a little something extra in mind during Hamptons Squash Week this year. The Elmaleh Stanton Squash Center welcomed the public and professional players to show their stuff on the court! The competition included the incredibly talented Women's International Squash Player's Association (WISPA) World Tour, Professional Doubles players and young squash players who truly have a passion for the game. Squash is not only about skill but also stamina. The game welcomes just about anybody. After the matches ended, SYS held a Hamptons Chic All White Party in honor of squash gurus, Victor Elmaleh and James Stanton. The cocktail event at the Four Seasons in Southampton recognized the extraordinary hard work of these two gentlemen and their devotion to furthering the legacy of squash. Proceeds from the event go directly to a new after school program for children at risk. The Academy is noted for squash lessons, community service and mentoring to help drive students in the long run a- nyone can play squash long-time squash champion Elmaleh reminded me.
