August marks a familiar decade - playtime for the mix of A-listers, fashionistas, partygoers and socialites that make vacationing in the Hamptons always memorable. Cynthia Rowley hosted a launch party for a chic up and coming line, "Sophomore." The rock and roll inspired casualwear screams everything but dressy. Playful tie die tank tops, cotton "Memory Motel" tees and vintage high waisted denim shorts appeal to the casual but hip Montauk scene. Inspired by the 1970s and Lower East Side style,
Chrissie Miller collaborated with designer,
Madeline von Froomer to create the unique youth collection.
Cowboy boots and ripped Levi's were a theme at
Christie Brinkley's Wild, Wild West carnival on Sunday. Hosted by the supermodel and the
Albert Einstein College of Medicine, the donations benefit the The National Women's Division of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine fundraising initiative in support of research in Women's Health and Cancers. The funds raised will support cutting-edge basic and translational research studies focusing on cancers that affect women -- including gynecological cancers (ovarian, cervical and uterine) and breast cancer. . Cowgirls and cowboys were treated with sweets from Ciao Bella, a western themed buffet, a watermelon eating contest and rides to die for! Interactive games, yoga for kids, tie-die stations, pony-rides, raffles and tug of war kept everyone coming back for more. Co-chair of the event,
Roxanne Palin, says she had a feeling the carnival was destined for success. "It's a wonderful day for families - we are happy to have people come, learn about the organization and have a great time," she said. "It's money for a cause in a nice way." Children mingled with the stars, not wasting a second of their Western adventure. Supermodel
Kelly Bensimon brought her children and seemed to be having a blast with the colorful horses. "Sopranos" star,
Edie Falco graced the red carpet, as well as event co-chair,
Jackie Hochberg. By the end of the day, the carnival left every child with a smile and every parent with high hopes for the future of cancer research.
