Southampton - Every so often, you'll find yourself at the perfect summer party. The music is transporting, the drinks are flowing, and there's that feeling of anticipation in the air that is difficult to formulate but unmistakable to identify. Things feel pretty idyllic, like you've just stepped out of a photo of what the Hamptons is supposed to be like.

And then you feel the drops.

Glasses are abandoned, caterwaiters are stopped in their tracks, and all at once the vibe shifts from peaceful to utter pandemonium.

You're then faced with a choice: you can either join the masses and run for cover towards the closest umbrella-covered surface, or you can tie back your hair, forget about your shoes, and just revel in it.

This weekend, last minute rain showers didn't succeed in spoiling the fun.

Over in East Hampton, "High Society" star Tinsley Mortimer, Scott Buccheit, Allie Rizzo, Douglas Friedman, Ian Gerard, Lauren Rae Levy, Emma Snowdon-Jones, and DJ Harley Viera-Newton helped NYC designer Roberta Freymann celebrate the grand opening of her colorful new boutique on Main Street. A worldwide traveler who speaks five languages and is hailed "queen of the kurta," Freymann paid homage to Brazil with her brightly patterned tunics, beach bags, tablecloths, curtains, bathrobes, bedding and loungewear. Nearby, a jumper-clad Minnie Mortimer, Tinsley's former sister-in-law, hosted a shopping event at Scoop Beach, and new design partner Erin Fetherston showcased a "Choose East Hampton" line of tee-shirts and tracksuits at Juicy Couture.

Southampton soirees on Saturday were in the interest of charity.

Myra and Frank Weiser and The Board of Southampton Hospital hosted a sophisticated cocktail reception to kick off the hospital's 52nd Annual Summer Party, benefiting The Jenny and John Paulson Emergency Department. Despite intermittent sprinkles, guests including this year's gala chair Jean Shafiroff and husband Martin Shafiroff, Southampton Hospital President & CEO Robert Chaloner, past chair Jean Remmell FitzSimmons, Nancy Jane and Jeffrey Loewy, Dr. John Anton, Janna Bullock, Katherine Dietze and William Heyman, Leslie Feldman, Dr. Joseph Fuchs and Sheila O'Malley Fuchs, Dr. Martin and Nancy Stone, Jack and Ann Grimm, Dr. Jeffrey Moses, Ladd and Cindy Willis, Patricia Stewart and Frank MacNamara, Whitney and Helene Stevens, James and Margo Nederlander, Sandra McConnell and Chris Obetz, Clifton and Raya Knight, Philip Kassover, Charles and Diane Holmes, Lucia Hwong Gordon, Richard Green and Elaine Gilde, Mark Alan Zurack and Kathy Lyne mingled over poolside cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at the Weiser's stunning Southampton home. "The greatest gift a person can give to one in need is an act of kindness," said "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson, who joined entertainer Nick Cannon on the stage at the Phoenix House benefit to honor Tony DiSanto, President of Programming for MTV, and Lauran and Charlie Walk, CEO of VWE Media and Chairman of RJW Collective, as leaders in public service in NYC and the Hamptons. Phoenix House, which began as a community of six recovering heroin addicts encouraging and helping each other in an Upper West Side brownstone, is now the nation's leading non-profit provider of substance abuse treatment and prevention services across 10 states. Lending support to the annual fundraiser held at Margie and Michael Loeb's beachfront estate on Meadow Lane was an extensive list of Hamptons and entertainment notables, including Hamptons Magazine's Jason Binn and Haley Binn, Heide Banks, MTV's Liz Gateley, Brett Ratner, Mitch Rosenthal, "The City's" Kelly Cutrone, "The Real Housewives of NYC's" Jill Zarin and husband Bobby, Countess LuAnn De Lesseps with new and former love interests Jacques Azoulay and Coerte Felske, Kelly Bensimon, Jennifer Gilbert, "Downtown Girls" stars Shallon Lester and Nikki Cohen, Jenni "J-Woww" and Vinny Guadagino from "The Jersey Shore," Andrew Rosen, Dori Cooperman, Sir Ivan, Seth Greenberg, Derek and Daniel Koch, VH1's Ali Jacobs, Rachel Heller, Eric Marx and Patrick McMullan. Both poolside and from underneath a weather-shielded tent, the chic crowd enjoyed a fully stocked bar, passed hors d'oeuvres and uplifting tributes, courtesy of a long list of sponsors such as Intermix, Bing, Reveille, Wolffer Vineyards, O.N.E. Coconut Water, Tiffany, and Saks Fifth Avenue, which donated a percentage-off coupon towards the cause.

Other Hamptons enthusiasts who didn't let it rain on their parade:

Shannen Doherty of "90210" fame made a pit stop at the On the Run gas station off LIE exit 70 en route to the Ross School, where she hosted the 15th Annual Artists Against Abuse gala benefiting domestic violence agency the Retreat.

"True Blood" heartthrob Ryan Kwanten, who is currently single and spent the weekend solo in Montauk, checked out Miami Heat alum DJ Rony Seikaly at Axe Lounge.

"Dancing With the Stars" alum Shannen Doherty was spotted cozying up to her boyfriend, photographer Kurt Iswarienko, during a romantic beach getaway at Montauk's newest hotspot, The Panoramic View Resort & Residences over the weekend. "The Real Housewives of New York City" newest cast member Sonya Morgan was spotted relaxing there as well.

20/20 anchor John Quinones opted for the tomato and mozzarella stack, mahi mahi and corn chowder at Bostwick's Chowder House on Friday, and singer David Johansen (a/k/a "Buster Poindexter") dined with a friend there on Saturday. Last week, Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber shared crab cakes, oysters and lobster with their two kids and nanny on the patio.

Actress Blythe Danner, Loraine Boyle, and four friends ate on the scenic porch at Nick & Toni's on Saturday, where George Stephanopoulos and wife, and renowned chef Eric Ripert and wife, dined with friends as well. Last week, the celebrated eatery played host to Keith Hernandez and writer/producer Nora Ephron.

Also last week, Josh Hartnett and Laurence Fishburne stopped by Surf Lodge to check out G. Love's performance.

Next weekend, the Fourth of July promises food, festivals, and fireworks – come rain or shine.
