Gearing Up For The Launch To 'The Season'

Guests at Private Salon Cocktail Party at Design House. (Sean MFK Bruns)

Southampton - Hello Chickens! It's been all stirring and happening around town! Memorial Day Weekend is just four weeks away and the curtain will be going up. Places everybody! Everywhere I go you hear the buzz over what's changing, what's not re-opening, well with four weeks to go it's time for many to find their course and declare their positions!

Celeste LaMontagne and Christopher Michael at "Spring Night Out" at Annona.

Design House in Southampton is hosting "Thursday Salons." Owners Suzanne Caldwell and Maria Greenlaw invited a mixed group of interesting designers and artists and other guests to an open house.

I was at Annona in Westhampton Beach, which is located above the exotic car dealership on Old Riverhead Road. They are launching their restaurant under dynamic new ownership and Thursday was a "Spring Night Out Party," with live music by Monica who does a sultry and hot performance of old and new songs and really channels a lot of Sade and Anita Baker - she really swings a room. They had an open bar for ladies from, and to promote networking there was prize giveaways - Brunch for Two Gift Certificates and more were given away by a drawing of business cards from a punch bowl. Seen enjoying the beautiful night out were Lucille Axelrod,, Denise Bornshein, Michelle Madonna, Christopher Michael, Nicole Celeste, Carole and Nicholas French, Theresa Fontana, Jennifer Blanchard, Brett Hirsch, Ronny Feldstein, and Lisa Rappaport. It was a great evening of networking and so nice to have something fun to do on a Thursday! Felt like Summer! The Annona space is very sexy and always was, but with the new energy in there, it has drawn me back and I find the new vibe very interesting! Stay tuned for more info on this newly reborn hot spot!

I was at Trata this past Saturday which is one of my favorite spots in the Hamptons. Trata has recently been expanding with a new super hot location in Roslyn, and a fabulous greek DJ who mixes trendy Greek dance with a Michael Jackson, and rumor has it they are also going into the Jean Luc East Space across from Nichols in East Hampton. Seen dining were former mayor Rudi Guiliani and friends, Pat and Joe Roperto with daughter Alexandra, as well as Kelly Ripa and her husband Marc Conseulos.

Michael Satsky and Brian Gefter, the operators of Lily Pond nightclub in East Hampton, went to court to prevent their landlord from terminating their lease on the space with one year left on the deal. Finally after weeks all has been wrapped up.

Over at a favorite Hamptons hotspot - Dune Nightclub - despite rumors to the contrary, I can report that this exclusive venue will be open as of Memorial Day once again! They need to bring back a hot Thursday night is my request! "We just signed our lease for another six years," says Dune owner, Matt Shendell "We definitely have cornered the market in talent, performances and celebrities. The space has been redesigned by myself and Noah Tepperberg. We look forward to being the premiere Hamptons venue – like last summer."

Liz Giordano, and Nicholas and Carole French enjoy the evening.

"Pink Elephant won't be returning and Lily Pond has seen its day," says one club goer about the other Hamptons hangouts. "People are bitter that Dune has done so well - of course you're going to hear negative things. Last year, other nightclubs were getting 'celebrities' like Jon Gosselin and Mike Lohan - Dune wouldn't even let those guys through the door. No matter what people are saying, Dune will definitely be back."

Nello's which is one of my favorite spots to hit for dancing, always has a great DJ and is always filled with beautiful people in beautiful outfits and there is enough room where you can dance and enjoy yourself and the people you came with without being trampled. I have seen lots of people busy there refreshing the building for the season and I look forward to again hitting this gorgeous spot

Georgica Restaurant & Nightclub on Georgica Pond is gearing up for their second season. After a major debut last year, Georgica returns with Chef Robert Hesse to bring a most delicious menu to life. I have heard some of the heavier dishes are gone this year replaced with lighter "Hamptons" fare. They will be opening the Thursday before Memorial Day offering a $25 Prix Fix every day with selections right off the regular menu. There is sure to be an opening party, last year's was a smash but no word on that yet.

Attendees had a great time at "Spring Night Out".

I have continued to check in on the 75 Main Restaurant story on Main Street in Southampton, now dark for almost two months. It is rumored that owner June Spirer is looking to have a Manhattan entity come in and take the summer. As of now no word still on the plan there. I spoke with Spirer this week and she said that she is in talks with potential investors/partners as well as still considering leasing the space out for the season. This space is such a major part of Southampton's Main Street.

I am eagerly awaiting the opening of The Boathouse any day now, it is by Michael Gluckman from Bamboo and formerly The Lodge, and will be opening on 3 Mile Harbor hopefully next week. All is set and ready to go, they are just waiting on the liquor license. Stay tuned!

It's moments to Memorial Day everyone, get out there and get your info and be ready to see and be seen come May 27 as the Holiday Weekend begins.
